Bruce Willis has signed to star in The Surrogates, a sci-fi film based on the Top Shelf comic series/graphic novel (see 'Disney Opts for 'The Surrogates''), according to Variety. Production is now slated to start in February in
Since a script is already in hand, production could begin on schedule as long as the director does not want script rewrites before or during shooting (which would not be possible as long as the writer's strike lasts).
Top Shelf tells us that a new volume, The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone by Venditti and Weldele, is currently underway and expected in 2009.
