Virgin Comics has announced a partnership with Perspective Studios, a computer animation house responsible for the animated segments in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto videogames, to co-create and develop a diverse slate of original properties for exploitation in multiple formats including comic books, mobile devices, videogames, and feature films.  Virgin and Perspective plan to launch these properties first as graphic novels and as short-form animation for online and mobile distribution.

Virgin Comics recently licensed its Ramayan 3392 A.D. comic book series to Sony Online Entertainment as the basis for a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), and the multi-media publisher also has considerable experience in producing content for mobile devices.  Perspective Studios, which has advanced motion capture capabilities at its Glen Cove, Long Island facility, is opening a new studio in Santa Monica, which will greatly expand its capabilities.  In addition to its work for the bestselling Grand Theft Auto games, Perspective has also produced the animation used in Ubisoft's popular Ghost Recon game.
