Topps has revealed that it will include three Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull box-toppers with its upcoming retro Indiana Jones Heritage set (see 'Retro Indiana Jones Cards'). The three images will include two stills from the new film, and the teaser one-sheet by Drew Struzan. The early release of these images on the Indiana Jones Heritage release date of February 19th had to be specially approved by Lucasfilm. The new film, the fourth for the franchise, doesn't open until May 22nd, 2008.
Topps has also released the names of autograph signers for the set, which will include Karen Allen, John Rhys Davies, Jonathan Ke Quan, Paul Freeman, Wolf Kahler, Roshan Seth, Ric Young, Kevork Malikyan, George Harris, Vic Tablian, Vernon Dobtcheff, Isla Blair, and Philip Tan.
Two different SKUs will be produced, one for hobby distribution, and one for limited specialty retail sales. There will be no sales through mass merchants. The hobby product will include the autograph and sketch cards, which will not be in the other SKU. The specialty product will feature magnets with art for the stickers that were the random inserts in the original set years ago.
