Marvel Comics is working with the United Nations to produce a giveaway comic that will feature Marvel superheroes working with the U.N. to battle the challenges of poverty, disease, and conflict.  One million copies will be distributed free through U.S. schools, with translations and additional distribution expected.

The comic will be a joint effort of Marvel, the UN Department of Public Information (DPI), the UN Office for Partnerships, and director Romuald Sciora, who's been producing documentaries about the UN.  It will be designed to promote international cooperation.

The Financial Times reports that the storyline will be set in a wartorn country, with Marvel heroes siding with UN. agencies.
