Variety is reporting that Myriad Pictures has optioned Hybrid, a comic written by Peter Kwong that will be published this June by Studio 407.  Kwong will write the screenplay for what can best be described as a live action ecological horror saga about a group of students who stumble on an 'abandoned' trawler only to find that it has become the nest of an aquatic creature that 'fishes' for humans in the open ocean.

Studio 407 is a new Bangkok-based comic company with an ethos that combines Asian and American elements and is described by Managing Director Alex Leung as 'East meets West.'  Late last year Studio 407 signed a first look deal with Myriad Pictures, a new studio, which so far has produced only a few motion pictures including Dario Argento's Mother of Tears and Gillian Armstrong's Houdini biopic, Death Defying Acts.
