After a flurry of national and local press activity surrounding the release of the final issue of One More Day (see, for example, ''USA Today' Covers 'One More Day''), primarily focusing on the controversy over the storyline, mainstream press coverage has taken a more positive turn this week.  An AP story released Thursday looked at the launch of Brand New Day (which streeted last week), and on the return to Spider-Man's roots as a single character.

The article quotes Marvel EIC Joe Quesada as saying that Marvel's letters had turned more positive this week, along the lines of 'This is the Spider-Man we remembered.'  While it does cover the controversy, it definitely puts it in a more positive context.

The article also quotes Stan Lee, who married Spider-Man and Mary Jane in a ceremony at Shea Stadium in 1987 (see the article in Internal Correspondence, ICv2's print predecessor for details), as saying 'It should stimulate a lot of interest in the characters and the books, and I'm eager to see what happens next.'
