Toynami posted a notice on its Website on Friday, March 15, indicating that the first 'volume' of the Robotech Masterpiece Collection Volume 1: VF-1J Rick Hunter will start shipping in May. The Masterpiece Collection includes the most accurate versions of the Robotech Veritech Fighters ever produced (see 'Robotech LeadsToynami Line'). The fully transformable Veritech Fighter comes in book-style packaging with a slide out tray. Toynami attributes the delay in shipping Volume 1 to 'necessary product refinements and final finishing touches.'
The first volume of the Masterpiece Collection, already sold out from the manufacturer, was just named 'Toy of the Month' by Toyfare magazine. This series of deluxe transformable figures is geared toward the avid (and well-heeled) Robotech collector.
