Two new animated series from Nicktoons and Marvel Entertainment, starring Wolverine and Iron Man, will air on the Nicktoons Network beginning in Q1 2009. Twenty-six half hour episodes each of Wolverine and the X-Men and Iron Man: The Animated Series have been ordered.

The Wolverine storyline begins with an explosive event taking away Professor X and leaving Beast, Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Wolverine. They get a glimpse of a future where the world is in ruin and ruled by giant, destructive robots. So Wolverine leads the team on a mission to prevent those events from taking place, while battling Magneto and The Brotherhood.
The Iron Man storyline begins with the teen Tony Stark living the good life, seeking extreme thrills, solving scientific mysteries, and creating amazing inventions. Then a tragic accident kills Tony Stark's father, leaving the teen alone with his technology to battle corruption.
The two new series will build off the character awareness of the Iron Man film due out this May (see "Best in Shows 2008, Part 1") and the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film to be released in May, 2009 (see "Wolverine Cast Signed").
