Legendary comic book artist Murphy Anderson, who designed the original packaging art for the launch of the Captain Action toyline back in the 1960s, will return to the property and create new packaging art for the retro Captain Action toys and collectibles announced by Captain Action Enterprises, LLC (see "Captain Action Returns in'08").  Although he did design the original Captain Action toy packaging in the 1960s, scheduling conflicts did not allow Murphy to work on DC's Captain Action comic book series, a situation that has been rectified -- Murphy will preview his cover sketch for Moonstone's Captain Action #2 at the New York Comic Con, where he will sign at the Captain Action Booth (#1862).

Anderson, who has worked in comics for over 50 years (largely at DC), will be honored at the New York Comic Con as part of the NYCC's "Living Legends" series.  Anderson is credited with helping to create the look of the modern incarnations of many of DC's superheroes including Flash, Batman, Adam Strange, and (with Curt Swan) Superman.  In addition to his cover work on the new Moonstone Captain Action series, Anderson will also provide a story for the comic.
