Nexus Editrice, and Fantasy Flight Games in the U.S., will release Battles of Napoleon:  The Eagle and the Lion, this summer.  The game is planned as the first in a series of products that combine principles and mechanics from board and miniature games.  Like Wings of War, each subsequent release will be standalone two-player games that can also be combined with others for larger battles.

The game system, designed by Sergio Guerri and Ugo Di Meglio, will combine “efficient and easy to learn mechanics and historical accuracy,” according to the announcement.  Mike Doyle, (Caylus, El Capitan, Leonardo da Vinci) is heading up the graphic look of the game.

The Eagle and the Lion will include hundreds of 1/72 plastic figures, modular terrain boards, cards and dice.  It will feature French and British troups, with additional armies, units, scenarios and additional game boards planned for future sets.
