Marvel Comics announced at New York Comic Con that it will publish comics adapting Orson Scott Card’s bestselling, award-winning Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow novels in comic form.  Ender’s Game will launch this fall in comic stores.  It will be overseen by Card, adapted by Chris Yost, and drawn by Pasqual Ferry.

The Ender’s Shadow adaptation will be published “concurrently,” according to the announcement.  The Ender’s titles will be published through Marvel’s Best-Selling Authors line.

Ender’s Game has sold over 1.5 million copies in English along since its publication in 1985, and has been translated into nearly 20 languages.  The two novels won back-to-back Hugo and Nebula awards when they were published in the mid-1980s.  Card is the only author to have won both awards in consecutive years.

Ender’s Game tells the story of Ender Wiggin, a young boy who’s taken to Battle School, where the world’s most gifted children are taken to prepare them to fight to save humanity.

The property is also getting new life in prose.  Tor will release Ender in Exile, a new Card novel set in the Ender universe, late this year.
