Image Comics will publish issues #13-15 of the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning Leave It To Chance by James Robinson and Paul Smith. Wildstorm's Homage Comics originally published Leave It To Chance, but when DC acquired Wildstorm in 1998 Leave It To Chance fell through the cracks, leaving the four-part story that began in issue #12 unfinished.  Image has revived Leave It To Chance and plans on publishing the comic in a series of hardcover volumes each of which will contain a complete adventure, which generally means 3-4 issues of the monthly comic.  But in addition to the hardcover collections Image will publish issues #13, #14 and #15 of the monthly comic to complete the unfinished storyline.

The first Leave It To Chance hardcover, which collects issues 1-4, is featured in the April issue of Diamond's Previews.  Volume Two in the hardcover series covers issues 5-8 and will come out in October, followed by Volume Three (issues 9-11) in February 2003, and Volume Four (issues 12-15) in June 2003.  The missing monthly issues of Leave It To Chance will be published in between the hardcover volumes.  The 48-page Leave It To Chance #13 comes out in July followed by #14 in November and #15 in March.  Issue #15 will be the last monthly Leave It To Chance comic, but the series will continue as a yearly hardcover with new adventures by Robinson & Smith.

In addition to winning numerous awards during its short run, Leave It To Chance also proved to be very popular comic with women readers.  In an interview with ICv2 about marketing to women, Joe Ferrara, the owner of Atlantis Fantasyworld described Leave It To Chance as 'a perfect title for young girls' (see 'Expanding Your Sales To Women'), so the fact that Image is reviving this title is good news for retailers who want to expand their clientele.  The hardcover album format should also help sales in the long run and also help this title sell in the mainstream book market.
