Games Workshop is planning to release its Warhammer 40K 5th Edition Core Rulebook for the popular science fiction tabletop miniatures combat game in July.  The hardcover volume, which will contain new rules for vehicles, damage charts for vehicles, rules for psychic powers and much more, will be available in a regular edition ($50), as well as in Collectors or Gamer Editions ($90).

The new Warhammer 40K 5th Edition Starter Set, which will be known as Battle for Black Reach and is due out in September, represents an unprecedented value for gamers.  The Starter Set, which will retail for $59.99, includes a horde of plastic miniatures that are worth well over the Starter Set price.  Reportedly the Starter Set includes a Space Marine Commander, a 10-figure Space Marine Tactical Squad, a 5-member Space Marine Terminator Squad, and a Space Marine Dreadnought, plus an Ork Warboss, 20 Ork Boyz Mob figures, 5 Ork Nob Mob figures, and 3 Death Koptas, a mini-rulebook and dice.

Games Workshop is also planning Dark Elves for Warhammer Fantasy in August.
