In a departure from its practice of mining its most venerable characters as movie properties, Marvel is now developing Runaways, created by Brian K. Vaughan in 2002, as a feature film, according to Hollywood Reporter.  Vaughan is writing the adaptation; Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will produce.

Vaughan’s Y:  The Last Man is in development at New Line (see “Writer and Director Named for ‘Y’”).

Runaways tells the story of a group of teenagers who discover their parents are supervillains.  Terry Moore is currently scripting the comic series (see “Terry Moore Takes on Runaways”).
