Today's Hollywood Reporter announced that special effects maven turned director Pitof (Jean-Christophe Comar) will make his English language debut as the director of Catwoman for Warner Brothers.  Pitof has supervised the visual effects on such films as Alien Resurrection, Asterix & Obelix Vs. Caesar, and The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc.  The fact that Warners Exec VP Kevin McCormick, who is overseeing the Catwoman project, chose Pitof to direct indicates the importance that special effects will play in the Catwoman film.

Ashley Judd, who is currently slated to play Selena Kyle, recently mentioned on television that the Catwoman script still needed work.  John Rogers penned the most recent adaptation of the screenplay.  No start date has been announced for the film, but the hiring of Pitof indicates that the project is moving forward.
