Screenwriter Malcolm Wong saw Steve Bennett’s recent column (see “Confessions of a Comic Book Guy--Seen It All, Heard It All”) and ICv2’s coverage of the upcoming Dog Eaters series (see “Dabels to Adapt 'Dog Eaters'”), and wished to comment on the column and clarify Dog Eater publishing plans:

I guess I must be one of the newbie screenwriter comic dabblers that Steve Bennett refers to in his June 26 article.  I don't disagree, by the way (the dude is a deep, insightful thinker), but if you want a fresh approach to stories, you might have to go about creating them in a different way than the "industry standard."

Dog Eaters is not a licensed title, not a revival -- I'm hoping that it draws some interest.  It will be doled out in six monthly issues from November 2008 and then compiled and published as a Del Rey graphic novel.
