Walt Disney Home Entertainment and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment have announced the launching of Time Jumper, an ambitious and innovative digital comic book series that will be released on multiple platforms.  Consumers will have the choice of downloading single or multiple episodes to a media platform of their choice at any time—or they will be able to purchase a printed version of the comic.  The new Web digital comic book format will combine the traditional look and feel of a print comic including dialogue and thought bubbles with cutting edge multimedia elements including music, edgy visuals, voices and a fast-paced storyboard.  Disney’s Interactive Media Group’s Disney Online will handle Internet delivery of Time Jumper, while Disney Publishing Worldwide will publish the Time Jumper comics and graphic novels.

The hero of Time Jumper, Terry Dixon, has a cell phone that also functions as a time machine and he uses it to jump through time in order to track down his older brother Sam, who also had one of the phones and who has been lost in time.

While announcing Time Jumper the Walt Disney Company also noted that it had renewed its “first look” contract with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment (see “Disney Signs Stan-the-Man”) for another two years.  Time Jumper is the latest fruit of the collaboration between the Mouse House and the Spider-Man creator.  Disney has previously announced three movie projects from POW! Entertainment that are currently in development (see “Disney Sets Up First Three Stan Lee Projects”).
