Top comic book writer Grant Morrison (Arkham Asylum, Batman RIP) has created MBX, a new intellectual property and animation franchise based on India’s iconic myth The Mahabharata.  Virgin Comics and CGI-specialists Perspective have formed a joint venture to produce animated feature films, and they have chosen MBX as their “flagship title.”

Using the myth of The Mahabharata as his starting point Morrison has re-imagined the epic tale of two families at war with the fate of the universe in the balance and set it in an “ancient” world populated with super beings and uniquely advanced technology.  The beings inhabiting this world are, in Morrison’s words, “stronger, faster, fitter, and smarter than we are, but still prey to the same emotional foibles that lead us all into disaster.”

Virgin Comics and Perspective Studios plan on announcing several MBX projects in the coming months, including feature film and video game adaptations.
