Universal and producer Marc Platt (Wanted) have optioned Steven Grant’s graphic novel 2 Guns.  Boom! Studios is currently serializing 2 Guns on the company’s Website, updating the crime saga with a new page everyday.  Grant is a veteran comic book writer (The Punisher) with a definite penchant for crime comics, who writes the popular “Permanent Damage” column on the Comic Book Resources Website.  In 2 Guns Grant has created a high concept twist on the buddy movie—two thieves, who are, unknown to each other, undercover agents, target what they think is a mob bank only to discover that the money they have taken is stolen cash from a CIA black bag operation and that some very skilled people are hunting them.

2 Guns brings to six the number of Boom! Studios titles optioned by Hollywood studios.  Previously Marc Platt and Universal optioned two other Boom! Studios’ properties, Tag and Talent, while Davis Entertainment has acquired North Wind (see “Boom Studio’s North Wind Acquired”), Paramount has snatched up The Foundation and Ice Cube’s Cube Vision is in the process of adapting Boom Studio’s 10 graphic novel at Dimension.
