The “summit” panel at Gen Con Trade Day, which will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 13th, will dive into “The Future of the Hobby Channel,” with game companies, distributors, and retailers discussing recent trends in the hobby game channel and the directions they expect the future to take.  Panelists will discuss the hobby channel in the context of its competition, the different ways game companies access the hobby channel, and how the change in product mix is moving the hobby channel in new directions.  The potential for growth of the hobby channel through more collaboration with educators and librarians will also be discussed.

Panelists announced to date include Barry Calhoun, Director of Entertainment Products for GTS Distribution; Bob Carty, VP of Sales and Marketing, Mayfair Games; Michael Dunlap, Direct Sales Manager, Wizards of the Coast; and Dave Wallace, CEO, Troll and Toad, with more to be added.

Gen Con Trade Day is available for onsite registration on Wednesday, August 13th, which will give retailers, game companies, educators, and librarians access to several tracks of great programming, as well as early access to the giant Gen Con exhibit floor on Thursday.
