Two creators from the Flight and Flight Explorer anthologies, Jake Parker and Ben Hatke, have each recently signed two book deals with graphic novel publishers. 

Scholastic has signed Jake Parker to a two book deal for its Graphix imprint.  The two graphic novels will feature Parker’s character Missile Mouse, which was introduced in Kazu Kibuishi’s Flight Explorer anthology for young readers.  The first volume, Missile Mouse: The Star Crusher, will appear in spring 2010. 

 

First Second has signed Ben Hatke to a two book deal for his Zita the Spacegirl property.  Zita the Spacegirl was introduced as a Webcomic, and first saw print in Flight 4.
