PSI-Dabel Suit Nears ConclusionWith PaymentPublished: 08/26/2008, Last Updated: 08/27/2008 12:10am The suit filed by Publisher Services Inc. (PSI) against Dabel Brothers Publishing is nearing a conclusion, with a full resolution expected soon. A judgment (in full) in favor of PSI was made by the court, according to PSI Sr. Sales and Marketing Executive Mike Krause. Les Dabel of Dabel Brothers told ICv2 that the funds to satisfy the judgment had been paid to the court and would be disbursed to PSI soon.
The suit was filed when negotiations between PSI and Dabel Brothers for PSI representation to the book trade broke down, and an advance paid by PSI was not fully repaid, according to the suit (see “PSI Files Suit Against Dabel Bros.”). This resolution should wrap up the remaining issues and allow both parties to move forward. Dabel Brothers ended up going with Del Rey for book channel distribution (see “Dabels Go to Del Rey”). |
