The Dark Knight has become the top-grossing IMAX release of all time, with $55 million in box office revenues since its release in July, according to Variety. It’s easily topped Polar Express, which is at $45 million after its initial release and re-releases each holiday season since. The Dark Knight passed $500 million in total domestic box office revenues last week (see “Dark Knight Hits $500 Million”), with global box office over $900 million.
