North Star Games has signed an agreement granting Days of Wonder English language rights for countries outside of North America and non-English rights worldwide for the hit party/trivia game Wits & Wagers.  Days of Wonder plans on releasing Gambit 7, derived from Wits and Wagers, in France and Germany later this year with a British Commonwealth version slated for 2009.

Wits & Wagers is an ingenious trivia game that doesn’t require players to be trivia buffs in order to win.  Players answer trivia questions and then bet on which answer is correct in this popular party games, which has won an unprecedented 19 awards and has received wide distribution here in the States (see “Wits and Wagers in Target”).

Gambit 7 will have game play similar to that of Wits and Wagers, but with different graphics, components, rules, and questions.  It's the first in a new line of Days of Wonder games that will be lower priced and have wider distribution than DoW's big box Euro-style board games.

Hidden Path Entertainment has created an Xbox Live Arcade Game based on Wits & Wagers, while the TV production company Rebel Entertainment Partners (Extreme Home Makeover, Judge Judy) is developing a Wits & Wagers-based TV show.
