Days of Wonder has announced an expansion for Ticket to Ride that converts the popular series of board games into a fast-paced dice game. The Dice Expansion plays similarly to a game with the standard Ticket to Ride rules; players still try to complete their destination tickets by claiming routes on a map. Instead of train cards, however, players roll dice to stake their claims and draw more destination tickets, or to pick up route tokens to save for future use.

Designed by Ticket to Ride creator Alan R. Moon, The Dice Expansion includes eight dice, a dice cup, route tokens, and multilingual rules in nine languages. It requires a map and destination tickets from any version of Ticket to Ride to play. It will debut at the Essen Game Fair in Germany in October and be available for sale in the U.S. and Europe at approximately the same time, with an MSRP of $20.
