The script for the movie based on Brian K. Vaughn’s Y the Last Man (see “Writer and Director Named for Y”) has been completed with an eye toward a late 2010 release, according to an interview with director D.J. Caruso by SciFiWire. 

Shia LaBeouf is Caruso’s first choice to pay lead character Yorick, and he’d be available after completing Transformers 2, on which shooting is over half done, according to Caruso.   

The film will be the first of an anticipated trilogy.
