Fisher House, the charity selected by the Gygax estate (see “Gary Gygax, 1938-2008”) to receive charitable contributions associated with Gen Con (see “Gen Con Solid”), was moved up after the first charity, Christian Children’s Fund, declined to accept money raised in part from Gygax’s signature work, the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game.

Live Game Auctions, which runs the charity auctions at Gen Con and Origins, among other shows, revealed the change in its news post on the results of the auction.  Over $17,000 was raised for Fisher House Foundation, up over 75% from the take last year at Gen Con.
