King Features has launched a new online comics distribution platform for local newspapers, making its 60+ daily strips available for newspaper Websites under a revenue sharing arrangement.  The new platform will allow local newspapers to display the comics on their Websites along with both local advertising, which the newspapers will sell, and national advertising, which King Features will sell. 

The strips will be available for 30 days.  Community features will allow readers to share, e-mail, and comment on the strips on the site.  Early tests have proved very popular, with solid traffic and engaged readers. 

King Features strips include Zits, Baby Blues, Mutts, Bizarro, Spider-Man, and classics like Blondie, Beetle Bailey, and Hagar the Horrible.
