A record $7.8 million worth of Hollywood memorabilia, including $240,000 for Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber, was sold last week in two auctions by Profiles in History.  The tale included the results of the liquidation of Collectors Book Store, which had over three million items, including scripts, costumes, stills, posters, lobby cards, etc. 

 

The auction set a new record for a Hollywood memorabilia auction, topping a $7.1 million auction of Star Trek memorabilia by Christie’s in 2006.
