The new Star Trek film is nearing completion, according to a post from director J.J. Abrams “from the last days of the sound mix” on Facebook.  “We’re just making final tweaks to the movie—we should be totally locked next week,” the post said. 

Star Trek is scheduled for release next May, with a young cast designed to appeal to young moviegoers (see “EW Has first Look at New ‘Trek’”).
