Mayfair will release Catan Geographies: Germany, which will use the game design from Settlers of Catan for a new game in which players explore and settle Germany, on March 12th.  This is the first in a series of Catan Geographies games.

Catan Geographies: Germany is designed by Klaus Teuber, with art by Michael Menzel, for three to four players ages 12 and up; playing time is 60 to 90 minutes or more.

Each box will include a color map board depicting 28 city scenes and 23 historic landmarks; 120 cards (90 resource cards, 26 development cards, and four building cost cards); 141 game pieces (12 landmarks, 80 roads, 48 town halls, and 1 “Gotz von Berlichingen”); dice, rules, and an illustrated almanac.

Players will start with town halls in three cities, and then build roads to neighboring cities in order to purchase landmarks and new town halls.  Both town halls and landmarks contribute Victory Points, along with the Longest Road, Largest Army, and the historically-based victory point cards.

The game will retail in the U.S. for $55.
