The celebration of the 25th anniversary of the creation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kicked off at the beginning of 2009, according to an announcement from Mirage Studios and 4Kids Entertainment. The characters were created for a self-published comic by Kevin Eastmen and Peter Laird released in 1984.
A new Website has launched, along with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Totally Tubular 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes, the first of several sweepstakes to be held this year.
Major convention presences are planned for New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic-Con (no relation), with large-scale consumer and media celebrations planned for both cities around the shows.
A mobile tour of key cities featuring the Party Bus will kick off in late Aporil from
Select screenings of the original TMNT movie will also be held.
