ICv2 has learned that, in the face of difficult economic condiditions,Wizard Conventions is postponing its Wizard World LA event, which was originally scheduled for March 13-15, and canceling its Wizard World Texas show.  Wizard has not yet announced new dates for the LA show.  Wizard’s Gareb Shamus told ICv2 that the Wizard World Philly and Wizard World Chicago events would continue as planned, saying “We want to focus our efforts on the events that we know are going to be great.”

Shamus blamed economic conditions for the decision to postpone the Los Angeles event and cancel the Texas show noting: “With what’s going on in the economy it just makes sense to make this move.  We want to provide our customers with the best possible show and we feel we can do that by concentrating all our efforts and resources on the Philly and Chicago shows, which are going to be better than ever.”
