Warner Home Video has announced that it will release the Watchmen Motion Comic on Blu-ray and DVD on March 3rd, three days before the premiere of the film (see “Best in Shows 2009, Part 1”).  The motion comic uses voice acting, music, and some motion to tell the story using the graphic novel art.  Episodes of the motion comic have been made available via iTunes, Xbox Live, and other DTO venues; nine of the planned twelve chapters have been released to date.

Extras have now been announced as well.  A coupon for $7.50 off Watchmen movie tix is included in both versions, as is a sneak peak of the Wonder Woman direct-to-DVD feature being released the same day (see “Wonder Woman DVD Due March 3rd”).

The Blu-ray version will include the Prison Break scene from the film, allowing fans to see it three days before the theatrical premiere.

MSRPs for the DVD and BD are $29.98 and $34.99, respectively.

The is the second DVD product being released in conjunction with the release of the film; the anime-style Tales of the Black Freighter will be released March 11th (see “Warners Expands Watchmen DVD Strategy”).
