Asuka
Kotobukiya has announced a number of
bishojo (beautiful girl) PVC figures based on popular anime and video game properties that will be available in the
U.S. in August.
The new figures include an
Evangelion-based
Asuka Maid statue (Kotobukiya has the exclusive rights to depict the
Evangelion heroines in maid costumes), which stands seven and one-half inches high and will retail for $59.99.
The
Asuka figure also comes in a
Special Edition, which features a yellow (rather than a red) dress, and also sells for $59.99.

Asa
The similarly priced
Asa Shigure Figure(from the
Shuffle anime) stands only 6.5 inches high, but that is because sculptor Syou Kojima decided on a provocative bending over pose. As might well be deduced from this figure, the
Shuffle anime is based on an
eroge or erotic game.

Uesugi
The
Uesugi Kenshin figure, which stands 7.5” tall, and is also priced at $59.99, is taken from the seventh iteration of the
Sengoku Rance eroge computer game.
She comes complete with samurai sword and a removable silver samurai helmet.
Uesugi was recently voted the game’s most popular character by Japanese fans.

Yoko
The most expensive of the new Kotobukiya figures is also the largest--a 9.5” PVC statue of the gun-toting
Yoko from the
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann movie.
The 1/6th scale
Yoko figure, which was sculpted by Tsukuru Shirahige, comes with cool weapon accessories and can be posed with different facial expressions and hair styles. It will have an MSRP of $99.99.
