John Malkovich has joined the cast of Jonah Hex, and additional financing is powering the project to an April production start, according to Variety.  Malkovich will play the role of Turnbull, a plantation owner who blames Hex for the death of his son.  Legendary Pictures is providing financing and will be co-producer.

The film has Josh Brolin in the title role (see “Josh Brolin in Talks for Jonah Hex”), and a new director (see “Jonah Hex Gets New Director”).
