Triad Toys has acquired a three-year license to create a range of collectibles including 12-inch action figures and statues based on the classic seinen manga series, Lone Wolf & Cub by Kazuo Koike and Kojima Goseki.  The 28-volume Lone Wolf & Cub manga series has inspired several TV series, seven films, and four plays as well influenced generations of comics, movies and video games.  Triad is currently working on figures of Ogami and Daigoro and expects to have them ready for preorders by April with shipments to retailers in August or September.

Triad Toys, which caters to collectors, has acquired the licenses to create figures based on Samurai Champloo, Soul Calibur 4, John Carter of Mars, and the classic TV series, Wanted: Dead or Alive, which aired from 1958-1961 and starred Steve McQueen.  The 12-inch fully clothed action figure of bounty hunter Josh Randall (MSRP $89.99) from Wanted: Dead or Alive is due out in April.  The figure of the iconic character played by Steve McQueen features real leather holster and belts, full metal bullets, metal spurs, and an exquisitely detailed reproduction of Randall’s signature firearm, the sawed-off Winchester M-92 Mare’s Leg lever-action rifle.

Randall’s clothing is just as detailed and authentic as his accessories. From the sheepskin of his jacket collar to the tight fitting denim blue jeans, the clothing on the figure has gone through numerous revisions to get as close as possible to the costumes worn by Steve McQueen in the original TV series.
