4Kids Entertainment has announced the upcoming release of two new expansion sets for the Chaotic TCG, each focusing on the M’arrillian Invasion storyline. Each set adds 100 new cards to the game and the first set offers a promo insert that will be exclusive to the hobby channel.

M’arrillian Invasion – Turn of the Tide, releasing April 8, comes in nine-card packs, each of which contains four common cards, three uncommon cards, and two rare foils. One in three packs contains a super-rare foil card, and one in 24 has an ultra-rare foil. Additionally, one in 288 packs – in the hobby channel only – contains the foil promo card New Prince Mudeenu, previously only available as a digital card from the Chaotic web site.

July’s M’arrillian Invasion – Forged Unity follows a similar rarity scheme (4:3:2 common:uncommon:rare, 1:3 super-rare, and 1:24 ultra-rare), but with no hobby-exclusive promo card announced. All super-rares, ultra-rares, and promos (in both sets) replace a common card in packs. All packs have a $3.99 MSRP and are packaged 24 packs to a box and 12 boxes to a case.

With the animated show airing on three networks (CW, Disney Jettix, and Teletoons Canada) and interactive gameplay through the Chaotic web site, the Chaotic TCG has some of the highest regular exposure of any TCG and took in $14.7 million through the first nine months of 2008 (see “Chaotic Sales Boost 4Kids Revenue”).
