The next expansion for Upper Deck’s World of Warcraft TCG, Blood of Gladiators, comes out March 24, but players can get a sneak peek at the set starting March 9. Participating retailers will have a free promo card for players who purchase WoW TCG product from the store.

Blood of Gladiators is the eighth expansion to the TCG, adding new PvP mechanics and Arena locations, as well as a new card type, the Dual-Class Ally, featuring World of Warcraft comic-book characters drawn by legendary artist Jim Lee. As with other WoW TCG sets, Blood of Gladiators will include “Loot” cards that players of the MMORPG can cash in for in-game perks. The set comes in 19-card packs, 24 to a box, with an MSRP of $3.99.

Upper Deck is also sending out copies of the extended-art preview card A Question of Gluttony, to participating hobby retailers, March 9, to be given away to players purchasing $10 or more of WoW TCG products from the store.

Upper Deck has three other WoW TCG products on its release schedule through the first half of 2009: Arena Grand Melee is a two-deck set (Alliance and Horde) that introduces a new form of gameplay and releases May 5; the Death Knight Deluxe Starter introduces the Death Knight class to the game and comes out June 16; and Fields of Honor is a booster-pack set due in stores June 30.
