Seth Green, who writes Robot Chicken for the Cartoon Network, will star in a motion capture adaptation of Berkeley (Bloom County) Breathed’s children’s book Mars Needs Moms.  Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express, Beowulf), Hollywood’s reigning king of motion capture movies,  is producing the feature film, which will be released by Disney.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Simon Wells is directing the film, which also stars Joan Cusack, Mindy Sterling, and Dan Fogler.  Mars Needs Moms is the saga of a young boy who stows away on a space ship and travels to the Red Planet in order to rescue his mom, who has been kidnapped by aliens.
