Wizards of the Coast has announced a series of D&D Game Day events that will be held at more than 1,250 locations in conjunction with the release of a second set of core rulebooks for 4th Edition.  The new rulebooks will support a higher level of gameplay with more options for character creation, encounter building, NPCs, and monsters.  The first book in the second set of core rulebooks, The Players Handbook 2 ($34.95) is being released today followed by the Monster Manual 2 ($34.95) on May 19th, and the Dungeon Master’s Guide 2 ($34.95) on September 15th.

 

With the release of each of these new core rulebooks WotC will by hosting D&D Game Days at participating locations around the world.  WotC is providing retailers with Game Day Kits that contain exclusive adventure content and characters designed to pique the interest of current D&D players and reintroduce the fun of adventure gaming to those who enjoyed D&D in the past.

 

Due in Sept.
The first of these D&D Game Day events, Players Handbook 2 Game Day, will be held this coming Saturday, March 21st.  The Monster Manual 2 Game Day event is scheduled for May 23rd, 2009, and the Dungeon Master 2 Game Day Event will take place on September 19th, 2009.  Retailers who didn’t signed up for the initial Game Day event, but who are interested in hosting events in May and September should contact Wizards of the Coast for details.
