In September Last Gasp will publish Little Fluffy Gigolo Pelu, Vol.1, the first book in a three-volume, adults only, manga series from Junko Mizuno (Pure Trance, Princess Mermaid, Hansel & Gretel).  Little Fluffy Gigolo Pelu is the comic tale of a cute fluffy extraterrestrial who comes to earth determined to find happiness in the form of a human bride. The little guy lands in an off-kilter Japan where he meets aspiring idol singers, sassy tomboys, and a weird group of body-switching students from a very strange high school.

Junko Mizuno is known for her signature Gothic kawaii style, which mixes grotesque noirish elements with a cute pop art sensibility to create an instantly indentifiable look that is shown off to great advantage in Last Gasp’s large format (10” x 8”) Little Fluffy Gigolo Pelu ($17.95).  This is a series that should appeal to both indie comics fans and adventurous manga readers.
