Bandai Entertainment has announced that Gundam 00 Season 2 will air on the Sci Fi Channel’s Ani-Monday block beginning on June 29th.  Two episodes of Gundam 00 Season 2 will air each week for 13 weeks.  The first season of Gundam 00 ran on the Sci Fi Channel from November of 2008 to February of 2009.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 is the seventh Gundam series produced by anime powerhouse Sunrise.  The first 25-episode season of Gundam 00, directed by Seiji Mizushima and written by Yosuke Kuroda, featured character designs by Yun Koga (Loveless).  It debuted on Japanese TV in October of 2007.  The second 25-episode season began airing on the Tokyo Broadcasting System in October of 2008.  An anime movie sequel featuring the same characters is slated for a 2010 release.

Gundam 00 is the first Gundam series presented in the widescreen format and filmed in high definition, something that those who have access to the Sci Fi Channel in HD will surely appreciate.  Gundam 00 is also the first Gundam series set in the non-fictional A.D. era, though it takes place far in the future as a private paramilitary force known as “Celestial Being” endeavors to prevent war and stave off conflicts using their powerful “mobile suits.”

Bandai Entertainment is also publishing English language versions of Gundam 00 manga (see “Gundam 00 Manga”) and light novels.
