FUNimation made two major announcements related to the Dragon Ball property, the manga and anime series that started the franchise, at Anime Expo over the July 4th weekend.  It will begin releasing the Dragon Ball anime in remastered and digitally restored season sets, beginning with Dragon Ball Season Set One on September 15th.  Some episodes have never before been released in uncut form in North America.

Videogame rights for the Dragon Ball manga and anime series have been awarded to Namco Bandai for Nintendo DS, Wii, Playstation 3, PSP, and Xbox 360.  The five year deal begins in January 2010 and supersedes the existing Namco Bandai Dragon Ball license.
