Warner Bros. has received approval for its bid of $33 million for most of the assets of Midway Games, including the Mortal Kombat franchise, Joust, and Spy Hunter.  Warners acquired the assets out of bankruptcy. 

Characters from DC Comics (a division of Warner Bros.) co-starred in a Mortal Kombat game last year (see “Alex Ross Art for DC-Mortal Kombat Game”).
