Anime Expo announced that the show, over the 4th of July weekend, was attended by over 44,000 unique individuals, a new record.  The show reported attendance of around 43,000 last year (see “Anime Expo Up 5%”).

Marketing for the show included TV ads this year (see “Anime Expo Plans TV Ads”).   Key guests included creators of Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Robot Chicken.
