Both the Quebec Superior Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court have agreed that the plans submitted by Quebecor World and its U.S. debtors and debtors-in-possession have met all the obligatory statutory requirements.  Thus the courts approved Quebecor World’s reorganization plans, paving the way for the giant printing company, which prints a high percentage of U.S. comics, to emerge from bankruptcy later this month.

On July 13th Quebecor and its affiliated debtors, debtors-in-possession and other assorted stakeholders will appear before the courts in a joint hearing in order to report on the status of any remaining issues relating to the terms of the new securities that will be issued by Quebecor World under the plan.  If all goes as expected, the giant printing concern will emerge from bankruptcy a little more than 18 months after the Canadian company first sought financial protection (see “Quebecor Files for Financial Protection”).
