The National Association of Theater Owners is upset over the short window between the theatrical release of G.I. Joe:  The Rise of the Cobra and the DVD release, only 88 days between the premiere of the movie and the November 3rd release date for the DVD.  Paramount’s normal gap between theatrical and DVD release is around 123 days, so the 88-day window is a month smaller than usual.

Paramount execs said that toys drove the release date, according to Variety, as property-owner Hasbro wanted the DVD release to support the release of the toy line due for release around the same time.
