SLG Publishing will release Animal Crackers, an omnibus collection of Gene Luen Yang’s early works along with a new 12-page story, in January.  The collection will include two out of print works:   Gordon Yamamoto and the King of the Geeks, self-published as a three-issue miniseries by Yang under a Xeric grant and then collected by SLG; and Loyola Chin and the San Peligran Order, originally published by SLG.  The new 12-pager by Yang will tell the story of his journey to publication.  An introduction to Gordon Yamamoto and the King of the Geeks by Yang collaborator Derek Kirk Kim (The Eternal Smile) will also be featured.  MSRP for the 224-page collection is $14.95.

 

Yang’s American Born Chinese, a finalist for a National Book Award (see “Interview with Gene Luen Yang and Mark Siegel”) and a top seller, with over 100,000 copies in print (see “Interview with Mark Siegel 0808, Part 2”).
