On Friday, November 20th the Cartoon Network is airing
Pokemon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, the 12th
Pokemon film and the third and final movie in the
Diamond & Pearl Trilogy.
The movie, which premiered in
Japan in 2009 where it earned more than $45 million, has a setting that based on Ancient Greece and introduces the character Arceus, the legendary Alpha Pokemon. According to director Kunihiko Yuyama (
Kimegure Orange Road) the film has the goal of demonstrating the importance of the survival of the natural world.
Pokemon
USA released the
Pokemon: Platinum-Arceus TCG Expansion, which includes 100 new cards including multiple versions of the Alpha Pokemon Arceus, on November 4th (see “
Pokemon: Platinum—Arceus”).
A DVD edition of Pokemon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life is due out in the spring of 2010.
